Houston Arts Alliance's Folklife, Traditional Arts Program to hold various music events
On Saturday, March 23, The Polyrhythms of Cuban Son workshop will be held at 5 p.m. followed by a concert featuring the pictured Cuban artists, El Rectorado del Son.
Houston Arts Alliance's Folklife and Traditional Arts Program will hold various music events in the upcoming months as part of its Remembered, Regained: Immigrant Arts of Houston series.
According to a press release, the Uno, Dos, Tres: The Many Musics of Houston's Latino Community events will feature local musicians performing distinctive Latino music. Each event is free and open to the public and will consist of a workshop and performance.
On Saturday, March 23, The Polyrhythms of Cuban Son workshop will be held at 5 p.m. followed by a concert featuring Cuban artists El Rectorado del Son at 6:30 p.m. in Guadalupe Plaza Park, 333 S Jensen Drive, Houston.
On Saturday, April 13, The Stylistics of the Colombian Accordion workshop will be held at 5 p.m. followed by a concert featuring Colombian artists Orgullo Vallenato at 6:30 p.m. at MECA Pavilion Green, 1900 Kane St., Houston.
On Saturday, May 18, Punta, paranda y mas, Traditional Rhythms of the Garifuna workshop will be held at 5 p.m. followed by a concert featuring Garifuna artists Lumali and special guest at 6:30 p.m at 5th Ward Jam, 3705 Lyons Ave., Houston.
