Aurora Picture Show announces call for entries for Extremely Shorts Film Festival
The Aurora Picture Show announced the opening of the submissions period for the coming 2013 Extremely Shorts Film Festival to be held in Houston.
According to a press release, the event will be the 16th annual presentation of the festival and will take place from Friday, May 31 through Saturday, June 1. Emily Doe of the Sundance Film Festival will be the festival's juror.
In addition to her work with Sundance, Doe works in youth education at the San Francisco International Film Festival and was, at one time, an editor at Wholphin DVD.
The Extremely Shorts Festival is a juried competition of three-minute films and videos submitted from around the world. The juror will select 20 to 25 films from among the submissions to be shown during the two-day screening. Audience Choice cash awards will be given to first-, second- and third-place winners.
Films will be in the genre of narrative, art, experimental, documentary or animation. Deadlines for film submissions is Friday, March 29 for early registrations and Friday, April 5 for late registrants. Entry fees are based on entry date and category.
