H-E-B announces partnership with Houston Texans J.J. Watt
The H-E-B stores of Houston have announced a new partnership with Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and the Justin J. Watt Foundation.
Watt is a unanimous 2012 All-Pro and starting Pro Bowler and was an integral part of the Texans' second consecutive divisional playoff appearance.
According to a press release, the agreement provides that Watt will serve as an H-E-B spokesperson to promote store products. The corporation has partnered with the team since 2002, sponsoring Tailgater of the Year and the Sacks for Hunger programs.
"H-E-B is honored to partner with J.J. Watt and believe he is a natural choice to represent our company," said Scott McClelland, president of the Houston division, in the press release. "Over the last two years, J.J. has demonstrated that he shares H-E-B's commitment to the Houston community while embracing the spirit of giving philosophy H-E-B is known for in giving back to those in need."
Watt completed his second season with the Houston Texans and led the NFL with 20.5 regular season sacks, adding 1.5 more in the playoffs. In addition, Watt became the first player in NFL history to record at least 16.5 sacks and tip 15 passes in a single season.
Watt founded and serves on the board of directors of the Justin J. Watt Foundation, which provides support to after-school athletic programs in Wisconsin and Texas.
H-E-B operates more than 350 stores in Texas and Mexico. The company is based in San Antonio and employs more than 80,000 people in more than 150 communities.
