The Harris County Courthouse hosted a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected Harris County officials Tuesday, Jan. 1, it was recently announced.
"It is fitting that on the first day of a new year and the first day of office for our newly elected officials that they take an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States and the state of Texas," said Stan Stanart, Harris County clerk, according to a press release.
According to the release, "the historic Harris County Courthouse was reopened in 2011 after going through major renovation approved by the Commissioners Court in 2003."
The courthouse is at 301 Fannin St., Houston.
