University of St. Thomas nursing program receives grant
The University of St. Thomas Nursing Success Center has received a $20,000 grant for several programs.
The University of St. Thomas Nursing Success Center recently received a $20,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.
According to a press release, the grant will assist numerous programs and services at the center, including peer-facilitated study groups, the freshman program, the peer mentoring program, academic advising, nursing program, new student orientation, academic and career workshops, technological resources, monthly social events, clubs and organizations, and the student advisory board.
"Bank of America serves the Houston community through lending, investing and philanthropic giving as a way to help advance the local economic recovery," Kim Ruth, Houston market and Texas president of Bank of America, said in the release. "By supporting exemplary programs like the St. Thomas Nursing Success Center, critical needs of the community can be met and help raise the quality of life for so many in need."
