The Skin Renewal Center in Houston wants to make sure everyone looks their best for all of those holiday photos.

Dr. Patrick McNamara is the owner and medical director of the center, located in the city’s museum district at 1512 W. Alabama St., and offers minimally invasive medical procedures to enhance appearance.   Board-certified in internal medicine, McNamara began offering aesthetic services to many of his patients in 2000.     “Many were baby boomers who wanted to maintain their youthful visage, and some were patients who had lost facial fat and needed fillers to restore their appearance,” McNamara said. “What started as specialized services to a few, ballooned into a practice unto itself. In 2004, I moved the aesthetic practice and created the Skin Renewal Center.”   McNamara said Botox, collagen and Sculptra, a filler imported from England, have been supplemented by laser skin resurfacing, hair removal, skin tightening with Thermage, and Vaser liposuction.     “Our goal at the Skin Renewal Center is to use medically proven techniques to improve our patients’ appearance,” McNamara said. “As a physician, I assess the medical appropriateness of a treatment and ensure that we achieve the desired goal. If a technique doesn’t work, we don’t offer it.   “Techniques to improve appearance generally include hair removal, body contouring such as cellulite treatment, and Vaser liposuction.”    McNamara said other popular services include laser scar revision for acne and trauma, tattoo removal, photo facials to even out pigmentation and redness, microdermabrasion and medical facials. “We also offer medically supervised weight loss for mild to moderate obesity,” he said.   So what type of client comes to the Skin Renewal Center?   “Our patients range from the young to old, men and women, business executives to farmers and ranchers,” McNamara said. “We can class these individuals into two groups: those who wish to improve upon their everyday appearance and those who want to reverse the signs of aging and/or sun damage.”   McNamara said that as technology continues to advance and improve, so will his practice.   “This is an exciting time in aesthetic medicine,” he said.    For more information, call 713- 533-0800 or visit www.theskinrenewalcenter.com.
