Uzman receives honor from University of Houston-Downtown

Bellaire's Akif Uzman, an interim dean at the University of Houston-Downtown, was named one of 40 national Vision and Change Leadership Fellows by the Partnership for Undergraduate Life Sciences Education on Monday, Nov. 26.
"“I am tremendously honored to be recognized for my advocacy in biology education and to be selected as a PULSE Vision and Change Leadership Fellow," Uzman said in a press release. "It is exciting to work alongside some of the nation's leaders in the field as, together, we help to reshape the future direction of life sciences education."
Uzman holds a B.S. in zoology and an M.S. in environmental health science from the University of Michigan, as well as a Ph.D. in zoology from the University of California.
