A Viennese New Year set for Dec. 31

A Viennese New Year, performed by Ars Lyrica Houston, will be held Monday, Dec. 31 at Zilka Hall, Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston.
The event will start at 9 p.m.

According to the organization, “The Grammy-nominated early music ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston will envelop its guests with festive music by the legendary composers of the Viennese royal court, followed by the Ars Lyrica Annual Gala at 10:30 p.m. in the Grand Lobby of the Hobby Center. A separate ticket for the Annual Gala is $60 per person.”

For the performance, tickets are $35 to $45 for adults and $22 for students.

Heights library hosting events for babies, tots

Heights Neighborhood Library will host several events for babies and toddlers in December.

The Pre-K Story time and Craft program, for ages 3 years old and up, meets weekly at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

Baby Time, an interactive story time featuring books, songs and finger plays, will meet at noon Monday, Dec. 3. The weekly group is for children ages 6 to 8 months old.

From 10:15 a.m.-noon Thursday, Dec. 27, the library will host Toddler Playtime.
