Seven Lakes High releases 2012 football schedule

Seven Lakes High School released its varsity football schedule for the upcoming season.

Led by coach Kevin O'Keefe, the Spartans went 6-4 overall and 3-4 in District 19-5A last season, failing to make the postseason. This season, new coach Lydell Wilson will look to bring the team a winning district record.

The Spartans begin the 2012 season at home with a battle against Kempner on Friday, Aug. 31.

Seven Lakes goes on the road the following week with a matchup against Clear Brook on Friday, Sept. 7. The Spartans remain on the road to square off against Travis on Saturday, Sept. 15, followed by a home game against Mayde Creek on Friday, Sept. 28.  

October's first game is on the road at district rival Taylor on Thursday, Oct. 4, followed by two home games against Strake Jesuit on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Katy on Friday, Oct. 19. The month ends with a visit to Cinco Ranch on Friday, Oct. 26.

The Spartans finish their season with a home contest against Memorial on Saturday, Nov. 3, and a road game against Morton Ranch on Saturday, Nov. 10.

All Thursday and Friday games begin at 7 p.m., while all Saturday contests start at 6 p.m.

Should the Spartans qualify for the postseason, the first round of the 5A Texas state playoffs would begin the weekend of Nov. 16.

Seven Lakes plays its home games at the 9,768-seat Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium, located at 1640 Katyland Dr. Katy.
