Spencer Ogden, a global energy recruitment agency, has chosen Houston for its first office in the United States.
Founders Sir Peter Ogden and David Spencer-Percival arrived from London to host a grand opening event in their new offices, located in BG Group Place at 811 Main in downtown Houston. With Edward Ogden and Jon Macaulay as directors, the company will recruit for the local oil and gas industry, developing renewable and nuclear markets.
Edward Ogden, who has been with the agency since its launch in January 2010, believes in using local knowledge and talent to service existing requirements and build strong relationships with Houston energy companies.
The Spencer Ogden management team intends to build on the growth of Houston's energy corridor to deliver an all-encompassing, consultative offering in recruitment to the U.S. To date, 20 employees from the Houston area have been hired through the Spencer Ogden Graduate Academy program, which involves fully-immersive training and career development opportunities.
The Houston office plans to more than double over the next year.
While Spencer Ogden is initially focused on the Texas oil and gas sectors, the agency plans to expand to other markets with offices in San Francisco, where renewable energy is increasing, as well as New York, a major hub for energy trading and finance.
