East End contractor blamed for fall
An East End contractor is being sued over claims his failure to provide a safe work environment caused a laborer to be injured.
Eulalio Membreno filed a lawsuit on July 18 in the Harris County District Court against Jose N. Mejia, of the East End, citing negligence.
Membreno says on Aug. 17, 2011, he was working for Mejia's painting and construction company when he was seriously injured in an accident. Adequate safety measures on the job site could have prevented the accident, according to the brief.
Membreno is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Timothy Hootman.
