Houston Parks and Recreation offering adult water fitness classes
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department has a number of water fitness classes available for adults 18 and older.
Adult Circuit Water Fitness is a combination of cardio, strength and flexibility training. Adult Hydro-Fit Training is more difficult, with sports-specific drills, intense cardio, core training, martial arts and plyometrics. Aqua Zumba dancing and Silver Splash for older adults are also available.
All classes are free with registration available at the pool through Oct. 5. Classes are limited to 20 participants. Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Aqua shoes, towels and drinking water are recommended.
Classes of different intensities are available at Agnes Mofitt, Emancipation, MacGregor, Mason, Memorial, Tidwell and Westbury pools in Houston. The Silver Splash program is exclusively at Sunnyside pool from 5-5:50 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
