WITS seeks creative writing teachers
Houston area schools are looking for educators who enjoy teaching the art of creative writing.
A year-long commitment is required. Participants would be responsible for teaching a half-day period each week from September through May.
In addition to teaching, job duties include preparing lessons, responding to student work and compiling anthologies of student writing at the end of the school year.
The part-time position pays $55 per teaching hour.
Bilingual writers in particular are sought, but others are encouraged to apply.
Applications for the 2012-2013 school year must be submitted by Monday, Aug. 6. Those selected will attend training in late August.
To apply, submit a cover letter, resume, three references and a 10-page writing sample by email to mail@witshouston.org or send to WITS, 1523 West Main, Houston, TX 77006.
