Memorial Park Golf Course to hold junior program
Memorial Park Golf Course will host junior golf training courses Aug. 1-3 at 1001 E. Memorial Loop.
The program is designed for kids age 7-15, and the size of each class is limited to 28 participants. The cost is $125 for the week.
The basics of grip, stance, posture, ball position, golf rules, etiquette and alignment will be taught from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 in a classroom setting. Following the class will be an hour of putting and an hour of hitting irons on the range for practice.
Further classroom instruction and golf rules will follow from 8-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, accompanied by an hour of pitching and chipping as well as an hour of hitting woods on the range.
Participants will play a game of golf on the course from 7:30-10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3. Each student will be grouped according to age and ability and taken to the course by a professional instructor. Parents are welcome to attend.
