One person is dead, and two are injured after a Monday, June 25, automobile accident on 2700 Kelley at Jensen.
Police say just before 5 p.m., a silver Toyota T100 pickup truck burst into flames when the driver of a red Saturn Ion wrecked into it after running a red light at the intersection of Jensen.
A person who witnessed the accident attempted to rescue the truck's driver and passenger, according to a Houston Police Department news release.
Medics arrived and reportedly transported the driver, a 70-year-old man, to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger, an unidentified woman, received treatment for her injuries, which were not life-threatening, at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The driver of the Saturn, a 29-year-old man, is at Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition, according to the release.
Authorities will release the victim's name after an examination by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
