Rothko Chapel to present sound art
Two free musical art performances are slated for July 28 at Rothko Chapel.
In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition "Silence" at the Menil Collection, the Rothko Chapel has two sound art performances that begin at 2 p.m. July 28 at the chapel, 1409 Sul Ross St., Houston.
The first performance will be a collaboration between Steve Roden and Stephen Vitiello. Their improvised performance is titled "The Spaces Contained in Each." The composition uses recordings of silence-pauses and silences on published recordings.
Also performing on July 28 is Jacob Kirkegaard with a new piece titled "A CAPELLA," which will be created live inside and in collaboration with the chapel itself.
For more information about performances, call 713-524-9839.
