Texas Art Asylum to hold crewel embroidery class
The Texas Art Asylum will hold a crewel embroidery workshop with artist and author Katherine Shaughnessy from 4-6 p.m. July 15.
The workshop will explore the history of crewel, different crewel stitches and an assortment of embroidery techniques. The class is open to sewers of all skill levels. Class space is limited, so advance registration is required.
Shaughnessy has been teaching crewel workshops across the country to promote her new book, “New Crewel: The Motif Collection.” Her tour includes 17 cities throughout the Midwest, eastern and southern United States. Shaughnessy will teach a few of the stitches that are found only in her new book.
To register or for more information, call 713-224-5220.
