Heights family raises money to honor daughter

Heights residents Leslie and Chad Stevens organized a CrossFit fundraiser to honor their daughter Olivia.
Born with a rare chromosomal deletion disorder, Olivia spent 57 days in the neonatal ICU at Texas Children's Newborn Center.
More than 500 people attended the third annual Battle Buddy 57 event, where they completed 57 repetitions of each CrossFit exercise. A record $12,000 was raised for the Olivia Grace Stevens Endowment Fund for Neonatology.
The endowment fund supports research, professional education and training at Texas Children's Newborn Center. The Stevens have raised more than $40,000 for the newborn center, ranked second in the nation for neonatology by U.S. News and World Report.
The center treats more than 2,500 critically ill babies every year.
