Hershey's Track and Field program accepting championship registration

The Hershey's Track and Field Program, for ages 6-14, is accepting registration for its Citywide Recreational Championship through Friday, July 6.

The free program, sponsored in part by the Jacob and Terese Hershey Foundation, demonstrates the basics of track and field events.

Experience is not necessary. Open to existing teams and individuals.

Events include the 50- and 100-meter dash, the 200-, 400-, 800- and 1,600-meter run, relays, standing broad jump and softball throw.

Spike shoes will not be allowed.

The Citywide Recreational Championship will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10 at HISD's Barnett Sports Complex, 6800 Fairway Drive, Houston.
