'Lion King' cast announced for Hobby Center run
The cast for the upcoming performance of Disney's "The Lion King" at the Hobby Center has been announced.
Casting is as follows: Jelani Remy, Simba; Nokubonga Khuzwayo, Nala; Brent Harris, Scar; Dionne Randolph, Mufasa; Buyi Zama, Rafinki; Mark David Kaplan, Zazu; Adam Kozloski, Pumbaa, Nick Cordileone, Timon; Keith Bennet, Banzai, Rashada Dawan, Shenzi and Robbie Swift, Ed. Zavion Hill and Adante Power will alternate for the part of young Simba, and young Nala is alternated between Sade Phillip-Demorcy and Kailah McFadden.
Performances will run from July 10 to Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. matinee on Saturdays, and at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets start at $27.50 and can be purchased at the Hobby Center box office 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The touring show is presented with Broadway Across America, the Hobby Center and Gexa Energy Broadway. The show's last tours in Houston in 2002 and 2006 were sold-out performances.
