Buffalo Bayou offers canoe and kayak tours
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has designated a 26-mile stretch along Buffalo Bayou an official paddling trail in Texas, which can be explored through guided paddling excursions.
Easy-to-use tandem sit-on-top recreational kayaks, lessons, paddling and safety gear are provided by North Lake Conroe Paddling Company.
Departures take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Woodway Boat Launch, just west of Interstate 610.
Excursions are being held on Saturdays, June 30, July 14, Sept. 15, Oct. 13 and Dec. 15.
Each tour can accommodate up to 20 people.
Cost is $60 per person and includes kayak rental, paddles, shuttles and guided tour.
Payment for boat tours must be made at the time of the reservation. Cancellations must be made at least one week prior to tour date.
