Heights day care center blamed for child's injury

A father is suing after, he says, his young son was seriously injured twice in the same day while staying at a Heights-area day care center.

David Singer, on behalf of his young son, filed a lawsuit on Friday, June 8 in the Harris County District Court against Heights-area Kipling Street Academy, citing negligence and negligence per se.

Singer says on March 30, 2011, his son received stitches after being injured twice in the same day while under the care of Kipling Street Academy in the Heights. According to the brief, the boy fell and hit his head on a baseboard, which jutted out from the wall, and then struck his chin on a piece of furniture.

Singer is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Austin attorney Ryan Brent.
