Buffalo Bayou Park planting begins
In 2011, Buffalo Bayou Park began testing to see if plants would be able to withstand long periods of high water upstream of the Sabine Street Bridge.
After testing for removal of silt, invasive vines and various trees, last summer's drought failed to revegetate the channel.
Park officials are again testing native ground covers, grasses and trees to determine which vegetation will flourish.
