Police investigate fatal shooting
The Houston Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at 516 Reid.
The identity of the male suspect, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division senior police officers T. Andrade, B. Evans and Officer J. Horn reported that residents of 516 Reid were home when they discovered their electricity had been cut off. One resident walked outside to check the circuit breakers and was confronted by an armed male suspect. While the resident was outside, a second suspect entered the home and was confronted by the resident inside and shot multiple times.
The suspect was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other suspect, by the breaker box, fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The shooting death will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
