Police investigate fatal traffic accident

Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 in the 2700 block of North Durham.

The victim, Adrian C. Rodrigues, 51, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sgt. D. Thomas and Officer T. Tran reported that Rodrigues was driving a silver Toyota Camry southbound at a high rate of speed. He struck a curb on the west side of the street, then went airborne and lost control of the vehicle, which hit a metal rod fence on the southwest corner of the street. His vehicle then ran into a tree.

No other persons or vehicles were involved in the accident. The investigation is continuing.
