His goal: humans at peace, robots at war
"I would like to live in a world where forgiveness and grace are exchanged more than insults and hate," said high school junior Micah Brouwer. "If grudges are let go and people genuinely loved each other more than themselves, I think the quality of life would improve dramatically. Of course, this is far-fetched, but I think whoever reads this should realize the impact he or she has on the world around them and would do a random act of kindness for no reason whatsoever."
School: Lutheran High North
Name: Micah Brouwer
Age: 17
Grade: 11
Accomplishments: Student Council Vice President, National Honor Society member, First Team All District in Soccer, on Honor Roll.
Favorite class: "Physics because I find it the most interesting."
Favorite things to do after class: "Play soccer, watch soccer, listen to music, play guitar and hang out with friends."
Favorite book: "Pretty much anything by Ted Dekker, namely 'Black.' "
Favorite website: "Iwastesomuchtime.com because I can almost always find something interesting."
Favorite song: "Hold Us Together" by Matt Maher
Favorite TV show: "Probably the 'Big Bang Theory' or 'How I Met Your Mother,' but I don't watch a lot of TV besides soccer games."
Favorite movie: " 'Saving Private Ryan' because it made me truly appreciate soldiers and the sacrifices they make."
Ambition: "I want to design and build robots that the military can use to replace soldiers in the midst of combat. I have been fascinated by droids ever since I saw 'Star Wars,' and I think the days are not too far away when the military can send in a few robots instead of a squad of soldiers."
