Heights electronic discovery company accused of fraud
A Heights electronic discovery business is being sued over claims it cheated an employee out of more than $195,000.
Jerry Hatchett filed a lawsuit on May 16 in Harris County District Court against Beyond I.T., of Heights, and Paul Price, citing fraud, breach of contract and conversion.
Hatchett says in March 2011, Price approached him to work at his digital forensics and electronic data discovery company, offering him 20 percent of the fees for the business he generated and 60 percent of the fees for work he performed.
The suit alleges the defendants breached this agreement in 2011 when they paid him $42,333.14 instead of the $240,000 owed to him.
Hatchett is seeking attorney's fees, damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Paul Flack.
