Contractor sued for alleged defective Heights-area home
A contractor is being sued over claims he performed shoddy work on a home in the Heights.
Robert J. Langford filed a lawsuit on Friday, May 18 in the Harris County District Court against Gerjaco Construction, citing breach of contract and negligence.
Langford says on Dec. 31, 2007, he purchased a defective home built by Gerjaco Construction, but the company agreed to fix the defects, which included a leaking roof, cracked stucco and warped decking.
Gerjaco later refused to make the repairs as promised and blamed the leaks on Hurricane Ike, according to the brief.
Langford is seeking attorney's fees, damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Carl Dawson.
