Central Market hosts layer-cake class

A renowned creator of layer cakes will be demonstrating her methods at Central Market in Houston from 6:30-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 1.

Rebecca Rather, owner of Rather Sweet Bakery & Café, will show how to build a 20-layer salted caramel crepe cake, a seven-layer chocolate truffle cake, a raspberry white chocolate macadamia cake with white chocolate leaves and "big hair" lemon meringue cakes.

The cost of the class is $45.

Central Market is at 3815 Westheimer in Houston.
