HISD's 'Up Close' showcases bond renovations
The monthly HISD "Up Close" television show, hosted by Board President Michael Lunceford, will showcase bond renovations at the Bellfort Early Childhood Center, community efforts to revitalize Black Middle School and efforts to preserve state and federal funding for public education in April.
Lunceford will interview fellow board trustee Rhonda Skillern-Jones about community efforts in District II to revitalize Frank Black Middle School. The show will also tour the Bellfort Early Childhood Center. The center was able to use an $805 million bond referendum approved by Houston voters in 2007 toward a renovation project. Lunceford will also take a look at how state and federal budget cuts are affecting the development of HISD's 2012-2013 school year budget.
Watch at www.houstonisd.org or on HISD-TV, Comcast channel 18 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 at 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
