HS softball: Waltrip defeats Yates

Waltrip thrashed Yates 17-0 in high school softball action on Thursday, in a District 21-4A match-up.

With the win, Waltrip improves to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in district play.

Kennedy Rodriguez struck out five on her way to the win.

Waltrip will next visit Sterling on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

With the loss, Yates drops to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in district play.

Asheanna Ward took the loss.
