Bayou City Art Festival seeks volunteers
Organizers of the Bayou City Art Festival, which will be held from March 23 through March 25, are seeking volunteers for the event, being held at Memorial Park, at 1113 Vine St., in Houston.
Proceeds generated by the festival benefit nonprofit partners such as the Lawndale Art Center. In exchange, nonprofit partners will offer an educational art activity in the Creative Zone. This year's art activity will be making wire trees to help inspire people to reforest Memorial Park.
There are a variety of volunteer positions available. Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt and free admission to the festival for the entire day of their shift.
To register to volunteer, go to Shiftboard, which is the festival's volunteer sign-up page, at www.shiftboard.com/bayoucityartfestival. Those who have never volunteered before will need to register for a new Shiftboard account and select Lawndale Art Center as their nonprofit partner and follow the directions to sign up.
For more information, including questions concerning volunteer groups or volunteering for consecutive shifts, send an email to elink@lawndaleartcenter.org.
