Harris County Sheriff's Office seeks leads in year-end murder
Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Homicide Division are seeking leads in a murder during the final days of 2011.
Harris County sheriff's deputies responded at 1 a.m. Dec. 30 to a shooting in the 4400 block of Sloangate Drive, in the Birnamwood subdivision in northwest Harris County.
Police found the body of Omar Malik in the street outside his residence. Malik had been shot to death, police said.
Homicide investigators at the scene learned that neighbors saw Malik arrive home and park in front of his residence. A few minutes later, neighbors reportedly heard gunshots and saw a vehicle speed away from the scene, according to police.
