Children's book sale to benefit public libraries
Friends of the Houston Public Library will hold the 11th annual Children's Book Sale on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17.
The sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 16, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 17. It will feature more than 11,000 books for kids age 2 to 18, with no book being priced higher than $2, with the exception of encyclopedias and other sets. All paperback books and board books will be sold for a $1.
Specially priced grab-bag boxes of paperbacks and assorted goodies, with 50 to 75 items per box, will be sold for $10. On Sept. 17 only, there will be a $10 Bag Sale from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with Fiesta paper being provided.
All proceeds from the sale will support the Houston Public Library and help provide funding for library programs, materials and scholarships for staff.
Educators who attend need to bring their tax-exempt ID. Checks, cash and Visa and MasterCard will be accepted.
The sale will take place at the Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church, located at 2025 West 11th St.
