Free spay, neuter clinics offered throughout Houston area
The Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) will be providing free spaying and neutering services throughout September.
They will be present on the following dates at the following places:
Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Sam Houston Race Track, located at Entrance 4 on Fallbrook.
Friday, Sept. 9 at the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center, located at 6402 Market.
Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Magnolia Multi-Service Center, located at 7037 Capitol.
Friday, Sept. 16 at the PetSmart located at 104 FM 1960.
Monday, Sept. 19 at the Harris County Vet Public Health, located at 612 Canino.
Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Food Fair, located at 6470 W. Little York.
Thursday, Sept. 22 at the PetSmart located at 5941 E. Sam Houston.
Friday, Sept. 23 at the PetCo located at 210 E. FM 1960.
Wednesday, Sept. 28 at the West End Multi-Service Center, located at 170 Heights Boulevard.
Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Office Depot located at 10724 Eastex Freeway
Friday, Sept. 30 at the PetSmart located at 104 FM 1960.
The SNAP advance team arrives on site as early as 6:30 a.m. Clients are advised to arrive at about 6 a.m.
A lottery will be conducted as soon as the SNAP advance team is on site to determine places in line. The mobile clinic arrives around 8 a.m. Dogs and cats should not have food after 10 p.m. the night before surgery, and a leash or carrier must restrain them.
Rabies vaccinations are also being offered, but only for dogs and cats spayed or neutered that day. Houston city licenses will be available as well.
This free service is provided for those who qualify for food stamps, TANF, Medicaid, Harris County Hospital District Gold Card, SSI/SSD, free school lunches, Major VA Disability or Section 8 Housing.
