Small Steps celebrates 2011 graduates
The Small Steps Nurturing Center recently graduated 26 students from its program, including 12 from its DePelchin campus in the Heights.
Of those 26, 25 have enrolled in TEA (Texas Education Agency) “Exemplary” or “Recognized” elementary schools for first grade. Seven of these students transferred from their regularly zoned elementary school to magnet programs.
Small Steps Nurturing Center is a nonprofit Christian organization that provides early childhood education and nurtures the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth of economically at-risk children in the inner-city of Houston, according to its website.
