Redistricting, CIP update on agenda for Greater Heights SNC meeting
Tuesday's meeting of the Greater Heights Super Neighborhood Council will
include discussion of the city's redistricting and Capital Improvement Plan
(CIP).
SNC President Mark Williamson says it's up to individual residents and super
neighborhood stakeholders to decide how to participate in the city's
redistricting process. For his part, he Williamson sees an opportunity to
make the Greater Heights' situation a little simpler.
"We've got this tiny fragment that's in [District] A and most of our area is
in H," Williamson says. "It'd be better off if we were just in one
district."
Williamson and other SNC members will also update residents on information
they heard during a recent public meeting on CIP and the Rebuild Houston
program.
"The mayor and a bunch of her staff came out and talked about how Rebuild
Houston was going to effect things and how it fit into the existing CIP
projects," Williamson says. During the meeting, the SNC also submitted its
request for assorted CIP projects.
The meeting will take place Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Houston
Heights Fire Station, 107 W. 12th St. View the meeting agenda here.
