Passenger dies in N. Houston two-vehicle wreck
A man died and another was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Houston’s north side early Sunday.
A Chevrolet pickup was westbound on Cavalcade at Enid around 2:30 a.m. when it collided with a Honda Civic going north on Enid, police said.
Police said the pickup driver fled the scene and wrongfully reported his vehicle stolen.
A front-seat passenger in the Honda died at the scene, and the driver of the car, charged with DWI, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital, said Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon.
The driver of the Honda, whose identity was not released, could face intoxication manslaughter charges in the passenger’s death, Cannon said.
Police said the pickup driver admitted leaving the scene on foot, getting into an SUV on Cavalcade, going home and reporting his truck stolen. He faces charges of failing to stop and render aid.
