Suspect in NW Houston pawnshop robbery still on the loose
Police are continuing to search for a gunman who fled after shooting a man during an armed robbery earlier this month at a northwest Houston pawnshop.
An employee was hit by gunfire Dec. 15 when two robbers staged a hold-up at Sunbelt Jewelry and Loan, 3411 Ella, Houston police said.
They fled when someone hit a panic alarm at the store.
The robbery also prompted a lock down at nearby Waltrip High School. The wounded employee's condition wasn't known.
One of the robbers was taken into custody while the other remains on the loose.
Robbery investigators are expected to release additional information about the case later this morning during a press conference at HPD headquarters.
