At Home in the Heights: Listening Room closes out with Ian Moore
Listening Room closes out with Ian Moore
The Listening Room's run of shows at NiaMoves, 508 Pecore, comes to an end with Ian Moore's show set for 9 p.m. Friday.
Listening Room has been a great place to listen to live music in small, intimate sessions, kind of like a house concert series with a wonderful workout studio instead of a house.
But the end of the run will not be the end of our enjoyment of it. The folks at ListeningRoom are working on releasing what they call a "ListeningRoom Live" compilation CD, with an expected release date of January 2011. All of the proceeds from teh sale of the CD will go to the Musicians Benevolent Society of Houston.
And take a look at this who's-who of artists scheduled to participate:
Sara Hickman
James McMurtry
David Wilcox
Vienna Teng w/ Alex Wong
Ian Moore
Peter Mulvey
Terri Hendrix w/ Lloyd Maines
Shawn Pander
Vance Gilbert
Sam Baker w/ Gurf Morlix
Ian McGlagan
Chip Robinson
John Egan
Guy Forsyth
And word is, there will still be more.
The CD will be available for sale at www.listeningroomhouston.com. There will also be some available at Cactus Music, 2110 Portsmouth.
As for Friday's show, doors open at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance at the Listening Moves website until 4 p.m. Friday. Click here to purchase tickets online. If you miss this window, and if there are tickets still available, they'll be $25 cash only at the door.
For a sneak listen, check out Ian on KPFT 90.1FM at 2 p.m. on Friday, visit www.ianmoore.com or check out these great clips below.
