Kroger to offer free flu shots at store in Heights
On Monday, Dec. 20, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., select Kroger stores in the Houston area will be hosting free flu shot clinics.
Locally, the shots will be given out by the Kroger store at 1035 N. Shepherd at 11th in Heights.
Kroger anticipates giving 5,000 complimentary influenza vaccines to adults and children, ages 7 and older, in an effort to combat the flu this winter. Each year in the United States, about 5 to 20 percent of the population gets the flu. More than 200,000 individuals are hospitalized from flu-related complications, and about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes.
A certified pharmacist will be administering the injections. No prescription is required, and shots will be given while supplies last.
