18 Hands to host Lammers reception
18 Hands Gallery, 249 West 19th, will host an artist reception featuring the lovely work of Lebeth Lammers from 6-9 p.m. Saturday.
18 Hands is home to some of the most interesting and beautiful craft work, ceramic and otherwise, in the Heights, and this exhibit is really no exception. When you click on that link above, you'll see some really amazing look at Lammers' vases, bowls, vessels, etc.
I love ceramics (no surprise as I'm married to a ceramic artist) and there's just something about clay to me, how alive it is. It's a gift of the Earth to us mortals and those artists like Lammers who can bring out its beauty and showcase it really do us all a favor. I'm not a ceramicist, but I am a big fan.
And here's another one of Lammers' I like. The shape and texture just draws the imagination in.

So before heading over to Lights in the Heights Saturday night, go check out this great artist reception. And if you can't make it, no worry, as 18 Hands will have Lammers' work on display and for sale through the end of the month.
