Update: Suspect arrested in Heights park rape
Houston Police have arrested a suspect in the sexual assault of a woman in White Oak and Stude Parks.
Leonell Antonio Murillo, 19, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping.
The 43-year-old victim was walking in the park when a bike-riding Murillo allegedly approached her, jumped off his bike, grabbed the victim and forced her into the bushes.
Police say he told the victim he had a knife and would kill her if she screamed. He then sexually assaulted her and forced her to call her family and demand money for her release, according to police.
Houston police searched the park area looking for the suspect, but he was able to escape on foot.
Murillo was later identified as a person of interest. He has since confessed to his involvement in the assault, police say.
