UPDATE: Bike Rally, Scavenger Hunt deadline today

Today is the final day to register online for the Houston Heights Association's Fourth Annual Heights Bicycle Rally and Scavenger Hunt, which will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The original post from a few weeks ago is below.
Even though the SP/MKT bike path is not yet completed, this looks like a fun way to really get out and enjoy the Houston Heights.
To register online or for more information, visit: www.SignMeUpSports.com or www.houstonheights.org, call 713-869-0505 or e-mail Paul Carr at tortureT@aol.com.

The Houston Heights Association is continuing registration for the Fourth Annual Heights Bicycle Rally and Scavenger Hunt Oct. 4 and is looking for volunteers to help out.
The rally is the fall fundraiser for the HHA, replacing the the now-departed Heights Festival. Here's how the association describes the event:

Rally will start and end at Marmion Park at 18th Street and Heights Blvd. This is not a race! This self-paced event will start any time after 7:30 am when participants will receive a packet containing a rally card, map and scavenger hunt clue list and will finish at 4:00 pm. This year participants will bicycle a 20-mile course on City of Houston bike trails going through the Heights, Northside, East End, Harrisburg, Downtown, 6th Ward and Norhill. There will be one combination check point/water station. The rally card must be validated by a rally volunteer at this check point in order for the participant to be eligible for prizes. Both the completed clue list and the rally card must be turned in by 4:00 pm. Rally will end with a party with live music provided by the Al Bettis Band. Plan to celebrate with food and soft drinks while awards are announced and door prizes given!

Registration costs $15 for every adult and $7.50 for every child age 12 and under before Oct. 1. After that, registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children. All proceeds benefit the Boulevard Beautification Fund.
