District H candidate meeting this week

The Metropolitan Organization (TMO) will hold a meeting at All Saints Catholic Church, 201 East 10th, this Thursday at 7 p.m. to talk about issues facing the community. Residents from the Heights, Independence Heights and Near North Side are all set to attend. Here's a fact sheet about the event.
HELLO HEIGHTS AREA FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!
Hope you all are doing well! I wanted to let you know about some efforts under way in our area to identify issues that need to be addressed in the upcoming City Council race for District H.
In May, there will be a special election for City Council District H. This is an important opportunity for Heights residents to discuss the issues facing our community and the kind of leadership we need at City Council. One concern is a rising epidemic of crime that threatens the health and safety of our community. What's causing this crime wave? What can we do to prevent crime and make city services more responsive?
These are some of the questions that will be addressed at a meeting of The Metropolitan Organization (TMO) at All Saints Church on Thursday, March 12 at 7:00pm. TMO will gather residents from the Heights, Independence Heights and Near North Side to talk about the issues facing our communities and the leadership we need at City Council.
I have worked with TMO for years on issues at the Texas Legislature, including restoring the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to 150,000 Texas children during the 2007 Texas Legislature.
I think this is an important opportunity to identify issues that need to be addressed at the local level by city and county leadership. I will be attending and would love for you to join me if you are interested / available.
